Here is SOLA In a nutshell: If you are a SOLA (or a PAL*) member:
-$3 to come to a talk by an invited professional speaker
-$0 for a non-professional or a sponsored speaker
Visitors are welcome; the cost is either $18 or $3 for the meetings.
We put the room together between 5:45 and 6:30 and the artist-folks
show up between 6:30 and 7 to sign-in, get some good snacks/drinks (not
chips and Kool-aide) and find a seat for all artists at the meeting.
If you are a SOLA member (which costs
$95/year) you can:
- Hear speakers from the art community monthly on the 3rd Thursday
at 6:30
- Bring a piece of art for show and be juried by your art peers collecting
They are also posted on the web site (with meta tags so it becomes
searchable).
- Be on the Talk Art TV show, taped monthly. See Example of the show

- Be part of the twice yearly SOLA Salon
event.
- Join the occasional art field trips to New York and other luminary
art spots on earth, near and far.
